Introducing the Open Hand Therapy Initiative

Hand therapy can be tough, especially when you don’t have the knowledge, skills and resources which are essential for treating hand conditions.

If you are a therapist treating hand injuries in a low- to middle-income country such as South Africa, then you will know how difficult it can be to get good outcomes for your patients while dealing with challenges such as late referrals, delayed surgeries, and a lack of basic hand therapy supplies. You will know how difficult it is for patients to come for regular therapy appointments, and how infrequent follow up affects their progress.

If you can identify with these challenges, then the Open Hand Therapy Initiative is for you. We aim to provide free hand therapy webinars and other resources to help therapists treat patients with hand injuries. We can help you to navigate the challenges mentioned above so that you can get better outcomes for your patients.

We will be hosting 6 free monthly webinars from July to December 2024 on the first Tuesday of the month. The webinars will start at 19:30 SAST and will be 1 hour in length. Each webinar will cover a single topic with two presentations followed by a time for questions.

We look forward to seeing you there!
