Hand therapy for burns patients

Did you know that more than 95% of burn injuries occur in low and middle- income countries where treatment is often delayed or inadequate and access to rehabilitation is not guaranteed?

All the more reason for us to learn about how to manage these injuries more effectively! And that is exactly what we did in our latest webinar. We hope you enjoyed taking part, and learnt as much as we did about how to stay ahead of hand burns throughout the rehabilitation process.

Our first presenter, Leandi Daling, guided us through the management of acute burns in the hospital setting while our second presenter, Natalie Powell, delved into scar management and other rehabilitation strategies to use once burn wounds have healed.

Participants discovered the importance of initiating burns rehabilitation from day 1, including being involved during visits to the operating theatre. They also appreciated the practical tips regarding positioning, exercises, holistic patient care and scar management.
